Hey, Texans!

Way back in 2016, I was in Iowa campaigning for the "First in the Nation" caucus, and this was our motto:

No worries.  This morning we all woke up with one extra hour of sleep, right?!  We've got this!  At True Texas Project we are blowin' and goin'.  I hope you're rested up!  Get involved!

How about your teens?  Are they rested up?  I hope so, because we've just announced our newest scholarship!  It's open to all high school students in Texas, regardless of what school you go to (homeschool, government school, charter school, or private school).  Deadline is Nov 30, so wake those students up and get an essay turned in!

Gossip, Slander, Innuendos, and Lies

The past few weeks have been full of people on the Right attacking people on the Right.  All of it was orchestrated by the Left-wing media.  Fascinating how that works, isn't it?  Don't be a pawn!  Be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.  If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry.  You don't want to.  If you do know what I'm talking about, you can read my take on it here.  And I advise all of us to watch this video and see how easily we can be manipulated.  Shame!

Fran's Friday Message

Do you know what YOUR lawmaker has been doing in this 3rd Special Session?  The answer is almost nothing! So far, 204 bills passed - 202 of them are resolutions to commemorate, congratulate, or wish someone happy birthday, and TWO are actual legislative bills.  The Governor has not yet signed either one.  Your tax dollars at work!

PS from Julie:  Fran was the guest on a podcast going over all the propositions on our ballots.  She did a great job!  It's 20 min, but if you're like me, you listen at 1.5 or even double the speed.  Saves time, keeps my attention when people talk slowly, and - bonus! - Fran sounds even smarter when she's talking that fast!

Lord, thank you for our tireless leaders throughout the state. Sometimes it just seems like we are spinning our wheels, but we know YOU are in control. We ask that you would open up your heaven over Austin the last few days of the session. Change hearts and minds and LET YOUR WILL BE DONE!!!  In Jesus name, AMEN

True Texans Taking Charge - Election 2024

These past several weeks our Election 2024 efforts have been focused largely on education as we've held forums, told you about candidates, and hosted various speakers.  Yes, we've encouraged you to start supporting the challengers to the Dirty Dozen, and hopefully you are donating and sharing their social media.  But come January, get ready to really start working!

While you need to be working all through January and February for your candidates, save the date for SATURDAY, JANUARY 27!  That's the True Texas Project Day of Action!  All across the state we will be hosting blockwalks and phone banking.  Watch for it!

New Month, New Calendars!

Don't be left out. We've got great fun and amazing speakers coming up!  Wanna know where you'll find our fabulous-five, faithful staff members?

• Julie will be at the Longview meeting, the Cross Timbers potluck/game night, maybe the Tarrant meeting, the Wilco meeting (& pre-meeting social), plus I can't wait for our annual Friendsgiving potluck and hymn sing in Grapevine!  Will I get to see you??? 
• Fran will be at the Grapevine potluck as well, plus the Rockwall/Kaufman meeting. 
• Susan, our Satellite Development Coordinator, will be at the Bexar, Hill Country, and Brazos meetings, plus the Denton coffee and maybe the happy hour, as well as the Grapevine potluck.
• Olivia, our Scheduler, will be at the NW Harris meeting.
• Carole, our Social Activities Coordinator, will be at the Tarrant meeting, the and post-meeting social, and the Grapevine potluck.

Here's our meeting calendar for the month.  We usually also provide you with a separate calendar for social events.  I think our crew must be running behind, but I'll be sure to share that with you in next week's newsletter. Or just go to our website to take a peak!
