john,

Since the start of the year, senseless acts of gun violence have taken the lives of over 36,000 Americans - including over one thousand children. We’ve seen tragedies across the country from Yakima, WA, to Allen, TX, to Lewiston, ME last week.

This level of violence and fear is unacceptable – and Americans are demanding action.

But the new Speaker of the House, Mike Johnson, has shown he won’t act. First, he blamed school shootings on abortion and the teaching of evolution. And just last week in response to the shooting in Lewiston, Johnson said "It's not the weapon, it's the underlying problem. The problem is the human heart, not guns."

That’s flat-out wrong, john. Our gun violence epidemic is a uniquely American problem caused by far-right politicians like Johnson putting the NRA before the people they represent.

Parents shouldn't have to worry about guns in schools, and their children shouldn't fear for their lives. That’s why Kim’s fighting to get deadly weapons of war off our streets. Are you with her?
