How can a purple state be so red in Congress?

Hank Johnson for Congress

John –

Last week, a federal judge found what we all suspected was true — that the Republican state legislature drew Georgia’s district boundaries to dilute the power of Black voters.

Looking at Georgia’s political maps, one question becomes painfully obvious: How can a state that went for Joe Biden in 2020 — and that elected two Democrats to the U.S. Senate — have only 5 of its 14 congressional districts represented by Democrats?

Even in statewide races where Republicans won — like Gov. Kemp last year — the vote total was much more evenly split than the current makeup of congressional districts.

But here’s the upshot, John: It’s now looking likely that our district will be redrawn in the next month or so. That means that Hank will be representing some new people who reside in what are currently other districts.

We’re going to need to make a concerted effort to get everyone the newly updated voting information, especially because turnout will be CRUCIAL in our part of the state for the 2024 presidential election.

Will you make a contribution to help us prepare for redrawn district lines and get information to new GA-04 voters about Hank and what’s at stake in the coming election?
