The Republican party’s behavior has been a nightmare for voters everywhere.

Last week, they voted for Republican extremist and election denier Mike Johnson for House Speaker – a vote that will have devastating consequences for reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and our democracy. It’s truly spooky having an extremist like Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House.

In North Carolina, Republicans approved a new Congressional map effectively disenfranchising millions of voters and tilting elections in their favor. It’s clear they’re scared to face the voters of North Carolina and the power of our Democratic movement.

John, I can’t stress it enough: Republicans are not fit to govern.

With our new Congressional maps tilted against us, our work to ensure every eligible voter can access a ballot just got a lot harder. We can’t allow Republicans to continue their assault on voting rights and democracy. We need to fight back NOW.
