YOUNGKIN FIRES EVENTBRITE

ICYMI: Governor Glenn Youngkin joined the Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show to share his response to Eventbrite kicking Riley Gaines off their website while continuing to list pro-Hamas events.

“Let's just first recognize that a Hamas terrorist group invaded Israel and conducted barbaric attacks on women and children and killed nearly 1,400 Israelis, and they need to be condemned. There's no place to sit on a fence here – you're either condemning it or you're condoning it,” said Youngkin. “And the fact that Eventbrite continues to carry events around Hamas is unbelievable. But then, on top of that, to proactively terminate an agreement with Riley is beyond belief.”

“When a company decides it's going to make statements on political and social issues, they have to live with the consequences. And the blowback here has been warranted,” Youngkin continued. “I think it results in the kind of action that I've taken. I have told our political committee that we will no longer use Eventbrite. The governor's office is no longer using Eventbrite. I would ask your listeners, do not respond, or RSVP to an invitation from Eventbrite. Just stop using them.”

“What should happen to companies that take these kinds of stances? The customers can fire them. And, in our case, we fired them,” Youngkin said.

WASHINGTON EXAMINER: Youngkin tells his PAC and office not to use Eventbrite over its censorship

Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R-VA) directed his political committee and office not to use Eventbrite, an online platform in which users host and schedule events, in the wake of the platform's alleged censorship.

Eventbrite came under harsh criticism from conservatives after it removed an event scheduled by Riley Gaines, an activist advocating the protection of women's sports from transgender women. While the online event platform censored Gaines, it has not taken action to remove events in support of the Hamas terrorist group.

After a University of California, Davis event Save Women's Sports spokeswoman Riley Gaines was scheduled to speak at in November was pulled from Eventbrite's website on grounds it violated their woke community guidelines and terms of service, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R) is speaking out - and taking action.

…

In the aftermath of Gaines' call to give Eventbrite the "Bud Light treatment," Youngkin has directed his team to pull all Youngkin events from the website on grounds that it was insane that they would toss a Riley Gaines gathering from their platform but keep up the ones that promoted support for Hamas in the aftermath the start of their terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians.
