Dear John,

There is still time to let legislators know what you think about their pay plans!
Time Remaining to Contact Legislators:
Decisions are being made now about how much and who will be getting pay raises next year. And how much funding will be allocated to public education. Lawmakers have been saying their budget plans will address the concerns they have heard from FEA members – but right now there are no guarantees.

Here's what we've been asking legislators to consider:
  • Salary increases – not bonuses
  • Local flexibility.
    • Salary distribution decided locally not prescribed by legislature as to who will and won’t get salary increases.
  • All employees eligible for salary increases.
    • Plan must include enough funding to include all instructional (including PreK) non-instructional and education staff professionals.
  • Multi-year commitment to increasing average salary.
    • Phases in plan to lessen salary compression
  • Enough funding allocated to support our students’ and schools’ needs.
    • The residual funds must cover fixed costs and to address other critical staffing shortages.
