This is horrifying, John. 🚨Last week, Republicans elected pro-NRA extremist Rep. Mike Johnson as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives🚨 If you haven’t heard of him until now, here’s everything you need to know about Mike Johnson: ❌ Sponsored a bill to ban the federal funding of state gun ownership databases ❌ Opposed bipartisan universal background checks for ALL gun sales ❌ Last cycle, the NRA gave him a 92% rating on their candidate scorecard ❌ Supported Donald Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results and voted to reject the results of a fair and free election. After weeks of chaos on the House floor, this is the best Congress has to offer? The last thing we need is a pro-gun politician like Johnson second. Here’s the truth: We’ve got our work cut out for us in the long term. But we’re not going to stand by and let the gun lobby win. We will organize, mobilize, and fight even harder for gun safety legislation.
