As you probably know, here in California we do things a little differently than most states. Instead of a typical primary, Democrats and Republicans run on the same ballot and the top two candidates, regardless of party, advance to the general election. (This can create some interesting election scenarios where two Democrats or two Republicans knock the other party off the November ballot.)

This election is the first test of our campaign’s strength. Think of it as a real-life poll for how we are doing compared to our opponent. It is incredibly important that Josh come in first in this March election or else national Republicans will literally flood our TV screens with negative ads.
