the bombing of the Beirut Marine Barracks. This week, Governor Youngkin honored
the 11 Virginians whose names are inscribed on the wall of the Virginia War
Memorial and whose legacies are forever woven into the fabric of our nation.

Earlier this month, First Lady Suzanne S. Youngkin joined Secretary of Health
and Human Resources John Littel at the Virginia Association of Community-Based
Providers (VACBP) Fall Conference. The VACBP is actively engaged in the “Right
Help, Right Now” initiative and is on the front lines working to deliver
effective community-based behavioral health services in homes, schools, and
centers every day. The First Lady continually pushes to meet Virginians’
critical needs by highlighting good works and resources that can provide
immediate care to Virginians.

In line with Virginia Drug-Free Day on Saturday, October 28th, the First Lady
spoke at a Virginia Opioid Abatement Workshop in Charlottesville, where
community leaders gathered to learn about effective strategies and partnerships
to address the opioid epidemic in the Commonwealth. The Opioid Abatement
Authority (OAA) builds partnerships between Virginia’s cities and counties,
state agencies, and service providers. The First Lady remains dedicated,
through her Women+girls (W+g ) initiative, to promoting mental and physical
well-being and de-stigmatizing addiction. She continues to encourage parents to
learn more about the lethal dangers of drug use, particularly the synthetic
opioid fentanyl. These resources are readily available on her W+g website under
the resources tab.

Dating back to 1927, Virginia's historic Highway Marker Program is the
nation's oldest program of its kind. In 2012, the Department of Historic
Resources installed a historic marker outside the Executive Mansion to
recognize its status as a National Historic Landmark, reminding visitors and
guests of the storied #homehistory within its gates. Stop by the Mansion for a
tour on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and visit
