Rep. Troy E. Nehls Votes for Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House Greetings! Folks, let me give you an inside view into the Swamp and a recap of what has happened in Texas’ 22nd District. This Week in Washington Rep. Troy E. Nehls Votes for Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House I voted in support of my friend and colleague, Mike Johnson, for Speaker of the House. Through our work on the House Judiciary Committee, I know firsthand that Mike is a strong, principled conservative who will lead the House of Representatives through passing the seven remaining appropriations bills, continue the much-needed investigations into the Biden Crime Family, and secure strategic wins for the American people. I look forward to continuing fighting for TX-22 and working alongside my colleagues to reduce federal spending, secure our nation’s borders, and put America FIRST. Rep. Troy E. Nehls Votes 'YES' to Pass Resolution in Solidarity with Israel and the Right to Defend Itself from Hamas Terrorists Our nation's greatest ally in the Middle East, Israel, is under attack. H.Res.771 affirms the United States’ commitment to standing with Israel as it defends itself against the barbaric war launched by Hamas and condemns Hamas’ brutal war against Israel. I am a proud cosponsor of this resolution. This resolution was the first order of business after Speaker Johnson was elected and overwhelmingly passed the House. The United States firmly stands with our friend and ally Israel in our condemnation of this heinous attack by Hamas, Iran-backed terrorists. Rep. Troy E. Nehls Joins Newsmax to Discuss Rep. Nehls Votes 'YES' to Pass the Energy and Water Development Appropriations Bill This week, the United States House of Representatives passed H.R. 4394, the Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies appropriations for Fiscal Year (FY) 2024. This legislation appropriates funds to bolster our national security, energy security, and economic competitiveness. The bill invests in construction, operation, and maintenance of our nation’s ports and inland waterways to ensure goods can be moved safely to and from global markets. Furthermore, this bill cuts wasteful spending, claws back funding from the irresponsible, so-called "Inflation Reduction Act", and protects various conservative priorities. This bill secures HUGE wins for the 22nd Congressional District: 1. $2.9 billion for Corps of Engineers Construction activities. 2. Report language for Corps of Engineers related to flood risk in Fort Bend County and Buffalo Bayou Tributaries and Resiliency Study. 3. $59.5 million for the Department of Energy's Grid Deployment Office within the Office of Electricity. 4. Eliminates woke programs, including eliminating funding for various Department of Energy programs; bill language prohibiting implementation of Executive Orders on diversity, equity, and inclusion; and bill language prohibiting implementation of the Department of Energy Justice40 Initiative. 5. Eliminates funding for the Department of Energy Office of Economic Impact and Diversity. 6. Eliminates funding for Department of Energy Fossil Energy and Carbon Management "Justice and Engagement" activities. 7. $280.97 million for the Department of Energy Strategic Petroleum Reserve. 8. $100 million for the Department of Energy's Carbon Capture program. 9. $80 million for the Department of Energy's Carbon Utilization program. I am proud to secure wins for the folks of TX-22! Rep. Troy E. Nehls and Senator Joni Ernst Introduce the BUILD IT Act One of the first things Joe Biden did when he took office was halt the construction of President Trump’s big, beautiful wall. As a result, millions of bad hombres have infiltrated our country, wreaking havoc in communities across the country. I’m proud to introduce the House companion to my Senate colleagues, Joni Ernst’s bill, the BUILD IT Act, which would allow states like Texas to request materials from the federal government to finish building the border wall. Read more about the legislation HERE. This Week in TX-22 Veterans History Project Submissions Are Now Open I am pleased to announce that submissions to the Veterans History Project (VHP) is now open to veterans residing in TX-22 who served in the U.S. military in any capacity. VHP accepts veterans’ personal narratives in the forms of original, unedited audio-and video-recorded interviews, photographs, letters, diaries, journals, military documents, two-dimensional artwork, maps, and unpublished memoirs that meet minimum requirements. Researchers, scholars and educators rely upon VHP collections as a primary source. These oral histories, photographs, manuscripts and other original materials are a rich supplement to historical texts, and a valued cultural resource. Veterans’ family members treasure the memories that are permanently preserved at the Library of Congress for future generations. A briefing will be scheduled prior to your interview in order to answer questions and prepare participants. Pre-interviews may also be scheduled during this time. Date, time and location will be announced once we receive the list of interested participants. If interested please provide your name, phone number, and email address to: [email protected]. For more information, you may call (713) 806-8878. Information About the Ongoing Situation in Israel The Department of State continues to closely monitor the security situation in Israel.
