It's crucial to debunk this age-old myth, especially when data reveals that approximately 46% of the U.S. gamer population is female. Misconceptions may have persisted due to the industry's historical issues with sexism or the lack of diverse and complex female characters in video games. However, positive shifts are happening, and it all starts with conversations acknowledging how many young women love playing video games.
Our Girls Who Code program extends beyond empowering girls and recognizing their presence in the gaming world. We are also dedicated to encouraging more young women to become creators of the video games they adore. This mission is not only about gender inclusion but also about ensuring that Black girls have a prominent place in this exciting and innovative industry.

We're launching a new Peer Advisor program in partnership with BareSOUL Yoga! Centered on mental health and wellness, this program is designed to encourage participants to deepen their own self-care practice and simultaneously use it to engage in the movement of community care. All participants will have the opportunity to receive a certification that acknowledges their completion of the program in partnership with BareSOUL Yoga.

BareSOUL Wellness Mindful Life and Community Fellowship is a service-centered training for humans interested in creating spaces rooted in love, awareness and connection through self inquiry, mindful-based restorative concepts derived from indigenous culture and modern science, service-based initiatives and leadership development.

We recently announced this year's Peer Adivsors - 5 young women who will serve as role models, offering assistance and encouragement to their peers, sit on our Board of Directors, and learn about Communications as active members of our Comms team. They're getting ready to head off to California and Atlanta for a conference tour, and will be joining our Annual Gathering to network with the community and join our celebration.

We recently learned that The Justice + Joy National Collaborative ([link removed]) Girl Conference in San Francisco has been postponed. We've already made extensive arrangements, received permission for excused absences, and are committed to creating an unforgettable experience for these remarkable girls.
We invite you to be a part of this remarkable journey by contributing to our travel fund ([link removed]) . Your generous donation will directly support essential expenses such as meals, lodging, and ground transportation. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to eliminating financial barriers and making this a truly unforgettable experience for each girl involved.

Here's how your donation could make a difference:
- $50 covers a day's meals for one participant
- $100 provides ground transportation for the team for one day
- $200 supports one night of lodging for two participants

In return for your support, we will keep you updated with the progress of the trip, sharing stories and photos that highlight the impact of your generosity and receive a tax deduction.
