Hello Friends,
I am very proud to be leading IWPR at this critical moment in our nation's history. It's truly an inflection point--the decisions we make now about how to engage with others, and how we will show up with moral courage to support and provide for those with less power, privilege or ability in our society--will determine our future, and whether we will become further disconnected or fully realize our shared humanity. And I'm all in.
This week, I penned an Op-Ed for USA Today for their Hidden Common Ground series, a project highlighting policy solutions to some of the biggest challenges of our time. In the article, I write about the need for shared prosperity and an economy that works for everyone, not just the few at the top. Click here to read the full article.
For the New York Times, I got the opportunity to speak about women in non-traditional jobs, and their barriers to success. I also highlighted a recent award from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation to IWPR on the retention of women in construction and skilled-trades. Click here to read the full article.
Both articles will appear in print this upcoming Friday in both newspapers.
On Saturday morning, I will be on MSNBC to speak with Ali Velshi in the 8:00 a.m. hour about the impact of the lack of paid sick days on lower-wage workers in the wake of the coronovirius epidemic.
There's no doubt--we are on the move!
I encourage you to continue to engage with us, and lift up the important work we do to build the long-term economic security of girls, women and families.
Best,
Nicole
