Three men and a chair: Tarrant County Republican candidates pitch future of the party

Voters will have a chance to pick a new chairman to helm the Tarrant County Republican Party in March 2024. But before the decision goes to a countywide vote, the party’s executive committee will choose an interim chairman Oct. 23. Three men with strong ties to Tarrant County Republican politics have thrown their hat in the ring: Bo French, Fred Tate and Warren Norred.

Sen. John Cornyn co-sponsors Revoke Iranian Funding Act

The bill, introduced by Senator Tim Scott (R-SC) and co-sponsored by Cornyn, among others, would permanently freeze the release of $6 billion to the Iranian government.

Texas Purchases $20 Million of Israeli Bonds

The State of Texas is purchasing $20 million of bonds from Israel to help provide the country with cash amid the ongoing conflict with Hamas, according to the Office of the Comptroller.

Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar made the announcement on Friday, assuring taxpayers, “The state of Israel is a solid investment.”
