Last Chance to Donate to the NVFS Fall Food Drive

The NVFS Fall Food Drive is coming up next week! This drive will help us to stock the shelves at our Hunger Resource Center (HRC) and meet the 26% increase in demand for food that we have seen since emergency SNAP benefits ended in the spring.

Support the Fall Food Drive in the following ways.

Donate food: Our greatest need is your food donations. See our suggested items on the Fall Food Drive flyer and on the NVFS website.

Drop off your food donations at the following location and dates:

Bethel Evangelical Church, 8712 Plantation Lane, Manassas, VA 20110

  • Tuesday, October 24, 2023, 10am-5pm
  • Wednesday, October 25, 2023, 10am-5pm

Make a financial donation:

Donate cash online, or by check, or donate grocery store gift cards. (NVFS recommends Giant Food gift cards, but all grocery gift cards are welcome).

Volunteer:

There are still a few spots left. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Navara Cannon at [email protected]. We have an urgent need for volunteers on Wednesday, October 25th 12:30pm-3pm.

Brighten the Holiday Season for Local Children and Families

In the Northern Virginia region, the rising costs of day-to-day living are an ongoing challenge. Families have grappled with escalating prices over the past 18 months, with the cost of meeting basic needs — food, gas, childcare, and other essentials — steadily increasing. This stress is compounded as the holidays approach and families look to celebrate and share joy through special meals or gifts. To help relieve this burden and allow families to gather as they choose to during this season, NVFS’ Holiday Drives provide food, gift cards, toys and other gifts to more than 2,000 our of neighbors, who would otherwise struggle to afford to celebrate their family traditions amidst rising costs.

Support local families this holiday season in the following ways:

Operation Turkey – donate grocery gift cards in increments of $25 to help families during the holiday season or donate funds through the link on our website. Gift cards can be mailed to the address below or dropped off at the drive site during December.

Trick or Treat for Toilet Paper (TP)

Toilet paper is a top need at our NVFS Hunger Resource Center (HRC). Help people get toilet paper at the HRC, while having fun this Halloween. Trick or treat for TP (toilet paper) is a great way to collect toilet paper from your neighbors as you collect candy. Learn more about how you can collect toilet paper via this flyer. Contact Navara Cannon regarding any questions.
