Friends,

While House Republicans continue to paralyze our governing body with their never-ending disarray, myself and other Democrats are still at work, doing all we can without a speaker.

Earlier this week, I wrote a letter to the chairman of the House Oversight Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs, to hold a hearing on the effects of Tommy Tuberville’s hold on military promotions.

Senator Tommy Tuberville has been holding military promotions hostage for 7 months. He’s mad about a Pentagon policy that reimburses travel expenses for service members who are forced to travel across state lines for legal abortion care. He has blocked the Senate from approving over 300 military promotions, forcing less experienced officials into positions temporarily.

This is reckless. One single senator is holding military promotions hostage over petty politics and has harmed our national security. Allowing him to continue this campaign could have catastrophic national security implications.

If you are with me, please make a donation today to help me keep the pressure on Tommy Tuberville and demand he stop blocking military promotions. [[link removed]]

This is not just about his irresponsible and self-interested actions, but this is about accountability — and I have never backed down from holding fellow lawmakers accountable.

But holding lawmakers accountable is not easy — and it paints another target on my back from extremist Republicans. So I am going to need your support if we are going to continue to hold lawmakers accountable in the coming years.

Will you please contribute to my reelection campaign so I can continue to hold lawmakers accountable on a national level? It is crucial that people in positions of power have their power checked. [[link removed]]

As long as I serve in Congress, I will continue to make accountability for lawmakers a priority — whether it be George Santos, Marjorie Taylor Greene, or Tommy Tuberville.

Thank you,

Robert Garcia
