PROPOSITION 1 HJR 126

“The constitutional amendment protecting the right to engage in farming, ranching, timber production, horticulture and wildlife management.”

Explanation:

This right is NOT absolute – the government can still make laws to control and manage these activities are done responsibly

Verdict:

Vote "NO" AGAINST. This is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It appears to affirm the "rights" of individuals but it actually affirms the right of bureaucracy to establish laws and regulations that may abridge your rights of ownership and use.

PROPOSITION 2 - SJR 64

"The constitutional amendment authorizing a local option exemption from ad valorem taxation by a county or municipality of all or part of the appraised value of real property used to operate a child-care facility."

Explanation:

This amendment will give the state legislature the power to create a law that would allow certain child-care facilities to be exempted from property taxes.

Verdict:

Vote "NO" AGAINST. The taxing obligation should not be shifted from a profit-oriented commercial enterprise and increase the tax burden already in place on the citizens of Texas. Preferential Treatment Regarding Property

A Word from the Communications Committee Chair

I’m not sure if every issue will start off with a prayer, but today it seems like the best thing to do.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, seeking Your divine guidance and strength as we embark on the journey to further the conservative movement. We ask for Your inspiration, encouragement, and energy to be infused into our hearts, minds, and actions. In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, we rely on Your unwavering support.

Grant us the wisdom to navigate the turbulent waters of our time, knowing that Your divine plan is one of righteousness and truth. Help us remain steadfast in our beliefs, yet open to understanding and empathy towards those who may hold opposing views. Grant us the patience required to change the minds of those who differ from us, recognizing that true transformation often takes time, compassion, and persistence.

As we confront the chaos and confusion in the world, we seek Your comfort. May Your peace envelop our souls, providing solace in the midst of turmoil. Let us be beacons of hope and stability in a world searching for guidance.

Lord, we understand that the conservative movement is not merely a political endeavor but a commitment to values and principles that we believe honor Your divine design for our lives. We ask for Your grace to uphold these values, living them out in a way that reflects Your love, grace, and compassion.

In Your infinite wisdom and boundless love, we place our faith and trust. Guide us in our mission to champion the conservative cause, knowing that with Your divine inspiration, encouragement, and energy, we can make a positive impact on our society. Help us remember that with You by our side, we need not fear the challenges that lie ahead.

In Your name, we pray.

Amen.
