The chaos and dysfunction we are seeing in DC is exactly what I came to Congress to combat. This embarrassing drama cannot continue as Iowa families are facing challenges each day, Israel is under attack, and our border remains open.

Let me be clear: this never should have happened in the first place. The chaos agents who worked with every single Democrat to oust Speaker Kevin McCarthy because of personal vendettas with no forethought for how it would impact our critical legislative agenda or national security are shameful. 

At every step, I have advocated for solutions to break through the gridlock and get back to work. I will continue to fight for you and work to get Congress back on track. Standing With Israel & the Jewish Community

Our closest ally in the Middle East, Israel, remains under attack by Iran-backed Hamas. Tragically, Americans were killed in the attack and more are still being held hostage by Hamas terrorists. There is no question: this is a matter of good versus evil. Israel has the right to defend itself and its citizens – full stop.

Last year, I visited Israel with a bipartisan delegation and had the opportunity to visit holy sites, meet wonderful people, and learn more about our enduring ties with Israel that are rooted in our shared democratic principles and Judeo-Christian heritage. I stand strongly in support of Israel and believe we must eradicate Hamas.

It is horrific to see the blatant anti-Semitism on display in the wake of these attacks. Whether it is Members of Congress spreading Hamas propaganda on Capitol Hill or higher education institutions apologizing for terrorists, it must stop. To the Jewish community in Iowa and around the world: we stand with Israel and we stand with you.

Empowering Female Veterans

It was great to meet with the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Association's Christina Schauer this week! Christina is an Army veteran and nurse whose courage and dedication to serving others is unmatched. 

I recognized Christina on the House Floor last year for her efforts to champion female veterans and ensure they receive the care and benefits they have earned. Too often female veterans don't speak up about the challenges they are facing. Thanks to strong voices like Christina's, female veterans are empowered to advocate for themselves.

We discussed the importance of advocating for female vets and the PACT Act, legislation that ensures vets exposed to toxic chemicals during their service receive medical treatment. We’ll continue working to improve care for all veterans.
