John,
It’s been just over two weeks since the House voted to remove Kevin McCarthy as Speaker, but the chaos in Congress is showing no signs of stopping.
Not only that—the question of who is to be the next speaker of the House seems to have overshadowed the fact that Congress **still** hasn’t done its most important job: fully approving a budget.
If Congress continues down its current path, we’re looking at another potential government shutdown in November.
John, growing up, I never had the luxury of dragging my feet or wasting time. When my family lost everything to a fraudster, we had to act fast just to stay afloat. That’s why watching all of this happen from outside Capitol Hill is especially frustrating.
Congress is acting like they have all the time in the world to replace Kevin McCarthy and address the appropriation bills, but taxpayer dollars are being wasted every single day.
From my tenure as State Treasurer, I know what it takes to read budgets, allocate resources, and plan for the long-term—and that’s exactly what I’m looking to do for all of us in Congress.
John, we need representatives who won’t play political games with our nation’s budget and who will put American families first.
That's exactly why my team and I created this petition. John, will you add your name today to tell Congress it’s time to prioritize people over playing [[link removed]]

In unity,
Colleen Davis
At just eight years old, Colleen’s life changed when her father’s company fell victim to fraud and went bankrupt. Her family was evicted, lost their home and all of their possessions, and they moved from rental home to rental home and school to school.
Thanks to the power of family, hard work and the care of her neighbors and teachers in Delaware, Colleen persevered and paid her way through college by driving an ambulance.
