🎯 Workplace Roundtable TODAY! 🎯

Ever thought about organizing your workplace, but don't know where to start? Join ATL DSA's labor committee for an in-person workplace roundtable at 711 Catherine St SW every third Monday of the month from 7:00-9:00 PM. This month's Workplace Roundtable will take place October 16th.

This roundtable will be an informal discussion on workplace organizing strategies, and what challenges people are facing in their own workplaces. Be prepared to introduce yourself, and share your experiences and advice with comrades on having workplace organizing conversations, strategies, and more! This event is open to members and non-members of all levels of experience!

This month, we will review Lesson 3 of Secrets of a Successful Organizer, which you can purchase at your next DSA event for $15.

Promo image for ATLDSA's Strategy Session

Join us for our first Strategy Session of the year, tomorrow Tuesday Oct 17, 2023 07:30 PM

This will be an informal, comradely discussion on a variety of topics related to DSA organizing and national politics, including the recent events in Israel and Palestine. All members in good standing are welcome to attend! To attend, please RSVP!

✊ No Money for Massacres. Stand with Palestine! ✊

The recent events in Gaza are alarming, and risk spiraling into further violence and death. Last night, Israel ordered the evacuation of 1.1 million people from the northern part of Gaza in preparation for a possible ground invasion, per a UN spokesperson. Right now, US Congress is preparing to use our tax dollars to fund a genocide of Palestenian people. Please take action NOW to urge Congress to support a ceasefire and de-escalation in Gaza!

💵 What's Next For Fulton County Abortion Funding 💵

Last week, the Fulton County Commission failed to pass a resolution that would allocate $300,000 to ARC-Southeast. As disappointing as that was, the fight is not over yet!

If you haven’t already, reach out to your commissioner and Chairman Pitts to let them know how you feel about the vote. If you live in Commissioner Hall, Barrett, or Arrington’s district, reach out and thank them for their support of abortion access, and urge them to push their colleagues to do the same. If you live in Commissioner Thorne, Ellis, or Abdur-Rahman’s district, express your disappointment in their lack of support and ask that they reconsider. It is important that they know how we, the people that they represent, feel.

The next commission meeting will be on Wednesday, October 18, at 10:00 am at the Fulton Government Center, 141 Pryor St SW, Atlanta, GA 30303. Please join us in signing up for public comment and telling the board of commissioners to stop playing politics with our healthcare and demand that they reintroduce and pass the resolution.

While our win may have been delayed, we are not defeated! We are dedicated to continuing our work to ensure that every Georgian can access the care that they need, when they need it.
