USA Today just reported that school shootings have reached a historic high for the SECOND year in a row.

And now, the gun industry is making military-grade, compact rifles that can fit inside a child’s backpack.

It’s disgusting. It’s absurd. And we have to make sure our leaders put a stop to it, NOW.


This is a huge test in our fight against the gun industry, the gun lobby, and the politicians they prop up. We need to take an early stand to send a message that can’t be ignored: Protect our students or else. So, Ban Assault Weapons NOW! and I are coming together to rally a historic 1,623 gun safety champions to make sure the gun industry hears us loud and clear. Can you rush $15 before midnight? In 2018, a shooter armed with an AR-15-style rifle charged my school’s hallways and slaughtered 17 members of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School community.

Then, less than 3 months later, a gun manufacturer paraded through an NRA conference to show off a military-style rifle that could fit into a school backpack.

It’s absolutely horrifying.

How much more of this bullshit is my generation – the school shooting generation – supposed to take before our leaders act?

At this point, many of us feel lucky we got to graduate at all.

But so many of us didn’t make it – and so many more innocent lives will be stolen unless our leaders have the courage to act to stop the gun industry, their lobbyists, and their supporters in Congress.

BAWN and I are working together to END school shootings by finally BANNING the assault weapons that make them so deadly. And compact military-grade rifles that can fit inside a school backpack like the ones the industry is marketing will only cause more bloodshed if they’re not taken off the streets as well.
