CPAC Calls for Congress to Investigate Corporate Donations to BLM

Black Lives Matter, Inc. Spending Investigation - CPAC Letter to State AGs and Congress
Members of Congress,

During the summer of 2020, far-Left agitators and activist groups mobilized throughout the streets of America’s biggest cities causing a record-setting $2 billion ( [link removed] ) in damages. Major corporations, scared of becoming the next target of militant cancel culture, paid ransom to the tune of $99 billion ( [link removed] ) to the “Black Lives Matter (BLM)” movement and related causes. Unfortunately, there has been a major failure on behalf of the media to investigate and hold the shadow-network of Leftist extremist groups to account for how the money was spent.

Now, following the terrorist attack from Hamas, where hundreds of civilians were brutally murdered in Israel, BLM-affiliated groups have triumphantly shared out their support ( [link removed] ) of the terrorist actions. Their support remains even as up to 150 hostages, including American citizens, are being held captive. This came as a surprise to many in the media, but it did not to those who have been calling out these domestic terror groups for what they were from the beginning. The antisemitism and hatred of the Zionist state was always apparent from BLM and the Left. As BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors said ( [link removed] ) sat Harvard Law School in 2015, “if we don’t step up boldly and courageously to end the imperialist project called Israel, we’re doomed."

CPAC (Conservative Political Action Coalition), the nation’s original conservative grassroots organization, has always been a proud supporter of Israel. CPAC has brought together prominent conservatives from both countries at events both domestically and internationally, including bringing CPAC to Israel. In this vein, we outright reject the BLM movement’s antisemitism and call for the immediate investigation of their financial records to determine if they have, in any way, funded the terrorist actions against Israel.

We call on Members of Congress to begin holding hearings to investigate if any of the $99 billion has been used to fund or promote terrorism domestically and across the globe. We also call for State Attorney Generals to immediately begin reviewing BLM-affiliated groups operating in their state’s and their ties to terrorism.

Sincerely,

Matt Schlapp
