Our southern border is in chaos. Six million migrants have been encountered by Border Patrol Agents since January 20, 2021. Border communities across TX-23 need the Biden administration and Congress to come together to find real, tangible solutions that provide relief. I am committed to working with anyone who is willing to come to the table and bring concrete policies that will put an end to this madness. Hosting Elon in Eagle Pass “Over the past few weeks, I have been to Eagle Pass multiple times, discussing a real path forward out of this crisis with Border Patrol Agents, local officials, and one of the most vocal advocates for fixing this problem—Elon Musk. Elon has brought more attention to the southern border than our own President, and I am confident that his coverage will shed light on this issue for all Americans to see. Border communities are tired of the broken promises and empty rhetoric coming out of Washington. The time to act is now. To watch my live update at the border with Elon, click here. Securing Solutions for Safety Americans demand real solutions to end this border crisis. We can start fixing this by passing my new legislation, The SAFER Act. The SAFER Act raises the credible fear standard, surges immigration judges to the border, and expedites removal for migrants that don't qualify for asylum. To watch my Fox News interview about the SAFER Act, click here. Punishment That Fits the Crime Border Patrol Agent Raul Gonzalez was killed while pursuing immigrants during a high-speed chase at the border. This is happening far too often, and it is time to bring justice to our first responders. I worked with Representative Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ) to introduce the Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act. This legislation will increase penalties for bad actors who evade and harm our Border Patrol Agents. To read my press release on the Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act, click here. Results, Not Rhetoric Earlier this year, House Republicans passed the strongest border security reform measure in decades. The Secure the Border Act provides millions of dollars for enhanced border security technology, authorizes an additional 900 miles of border wall to be constructed, and strengthens the Border Patrol workforce by providing retention bonuses. It is time for the Senate to take this legislation up and show that Congress is serious about promoting results, not just rhetoric. My team and I are always available to assist you.
