BMWED IN DISCUSSION WITH RAILROADS REGARDING POTENTIAL SPREAD OF
CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
The BMWED is in discussion with various railroad carriers regarding the
potential spread of the COVID-19, otherwise known as the Coronavirus.
It is important to make preliminary plans to set up precautions if a
Coronavirus diagnosis inflicts one of our Brothers or Sisters, or if
the virus shows up anywhere at work.
BMWED Director of Safety Roy Morrison and all the BMWED General
Chairpersons are making a coordinated effort to open up lines of
communication with the railroads in order to state our desire to have
precautions and plans in place to deal with the potential of this virus.
In the meantime, it is imperative to follow the Center for Disease
Control's guidelines in order to protect yourself from potentially
contracting the disease. You can find those guidelines at the link
below.
If you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact your
BMWED system/federation office or Director of Safety Roy Morrison at
[email protected]
