John,

We have a plastic pollution crisis on our hands.

The United States produces more plastic waste than any other country.[1] Altogether, we throw out enough plastic to fill one and a half Dallas Cowboys football stadiums every day.[2]

More than 90% of that plastic ends up in a landfill or an incinerator. Only a tiny fraction gets recycled.[3]

But at PIRG, we have a plan to confront the crisis and move beyond plastic.

We're tackling the corporations that produce and sell wasteful single-use plastic and packaging. We're campaigning for legislation that will ban the worst forms of polluting plastic. But we can't win without you by our side, John.

Will you donate to our September Drive before the September 30 deadline and fuel our work to put a stop to plastic pollution?

We have our work cut out for us. The oil, gas and plastics industries have spent decades -- and millions of dollars -- trying to downplay the harmful consequences of the single-use plastics they manufacture and distribute.

But we're built for the job. We have decades of experience standing up to powerful special interests, and winning results.

Our team of advocates and researchers, together with supporters like you, are transforming the country one victory at a time. Together, we've won bans on at least one form of harmful plastic pollution in 14 states.

But we still have so much more work to do. With your support, our next victory could be just around the corner.

Make your September Drive gift to PIRG today to help us reach our $10,000 goal and move our country beyond plastic.
