John, allow us a moment to break down the news:

FIRST, Democrats’ expanded Child Tax Credit created the largest middle-class tax cut of our lifetimes and cut child poverty by nearly 50 percent in 2021.

THEN, Republicans unanimously opposed its renewal and let this historic tax cut expire last year.

NOW, child poverty increased from 5.2% to 12.4% as a result of GOP obstruction — and Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy show no signs of changing course to lift kids back out of poverty.
