🚨🚨🚨This is a BIG turning point for us, John! President Joe Biden just unveiled his administration’s plan to form the Office of Gun Violence Prevention — a HUGE milestone for our youth-led movement. 🎉🥳
An accomplishment like this was unimaginable even just a few years ago. It’s a testament to how far we’ve come and the power we have when we fight for gun safety action. Together, we have been calling for this office since 2019. As a result, we proved again that March For Our Lives organizing works, and hard work pays off. You played a critical part in this victory, and we THANK YOU for that! The Office of Gun Violence Prevention gives the president more tools to lead on the issue and will help coordinate efforts across the federal government to reduce gun violence. By putting all of our federal and state partners’ resources together in one place, our movement now has a home in the White House to oversee national policy, research and resources. This is HUGE! This is the first office of its kind in U.S. history, and we’re so excited that Biden heard our voices and is taking this important step to combat gun violence head on.
