TDI proposes rules to update notice requirements and require nonrenewal of uncooperative insureds

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) proposes new and amended rules to implement:

* SB 1602, 87th Legislature, 2021, which requires insurers to nonrenew private passenger automobile policies if an insured fails or refuses to cooperate;
* HB 1900, 88th Legislature, 2023, which updates notice requirements for nonrenewal and cancellation of private passenger automobile policies; and
* HB 2065, 88th Legislature, 2023, which specifies that mandatory nonrenewal applies to third-party liability claims.
