This Week on the Floor

Monday the 24th we celebrated Latino Advocacy day here at the Capitol.  It was a day to recognize the contributions of Latinos to the state of Colorado and to ensure we create a space that fosters Latino participation in state politics.  I sponsored a Resolution to recognize the Maestas Case of 1914, which was the first major step taken to address the segregation of Mexican Americans in the education system.

Bill Updates

SB20-043 and SB20-113 that I co-sponsored with Senator Tate both passed on Third Reading in the House on Friday.  These bills will head to the Governor's office.

SB20-079: Method of Notifying People Of Amber Alerts passed in the House State, Veteran, and Military Affairs Committee on Thursday and will go to the Committee of the Whole for Second Reading in the House.
