Just in the month of August, there were around 230,000 encounters with illegal immigrants at the southern border. We cannot allow this to continue. There is nothing compassionate about this. Texas is continuing to bear the brunt of this crisis, and I’m continuing to lead the fight in Congress for commonsense measures that would secure the border.
