This month, in between undermining our democracy and giving incompetent loyalists jobs, Donald Trump released his new federal budget.

Trump campaigned for his presidency claiming that he wouldn't make any cuts to Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security. But actions speak louder than words. Trump's budget aims to deeply gut the social safety net. All so his millionaire golf buddies can line their pockets with massive tax cuts.

To make matters worse, on the brink of what appears to be a global pandemic, Trump's budget also contains drastic cuts to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This plan is a surefire way to put Americans at risk.

While you've probably heard countless Democrats say versions of this, here's one thing we must keep in mind: as outrageous as Trump's budget is, with Republicans controlling the Senate, it might just become a reality.

This is why we must win back the Senate in 2020. Chip in $3 and let's get the job done.

Here's the bottom line: as I travel to every corner of Oregon every year, I hear from countless Oregonians from every community that they want their government to work for them -- not just the wealthiest people or biggest corporations.

That concept seems to be a non-starter for Trump, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans.

Which is why we must win in 2020 -- to take back our government and put it to work for everyone who calls America home.

Please make a grassroots donation before our end-of-month fundraising deadline.
