National Voter Registration Day is a holiday to encourage everyone to register to vote. It’s a crucial first step to being able to participate in elections, but in 38 states registering to vote may not be enough.
In states with voter ID requirements, registered voters ALSO need to do an ID check and make sure they know what ID they can use to cast a ballot that counts — or how to get one if they don’t have the kind they need.
We’re teaming up with our friends at the Workers Circle to write letters to voters in Arizona, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina, and Texas. All those states have restrictive voter ID laws where it is definitely not enough to register to vote without also doing an ID check!
Come join the party! Sign up to celebrate National Voter Registration Day by making a real difference for voters in voter ID states. It’s fun and it makes a big difference. |
