FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lake Whatcom Boulevard to Close from September 18th - 22nd

Lake Whatcom Boulevard, just north of Alger Cain Lake Road, will close in both directions from Lake Louise Road to just before Sudden Valley Gate 23 from 7:00 a.m. on September 18th to 4:00 p.m. on September 22nd. The closure will permit Whatcom County crews to repair a failing culvert.

The closure applies to all traffic, including emergency vehicles and school buses. Please plan ahead to use alternate routes during the closure and be prepared for changes to the closure dates as the culvert replacement project is weather-dependent.

Any questions about the closure can be directed to Whatcom County Public Works Maintenance and Operations at (360) 778-6400.  A suggested detour route for northbound and southbound traffic can be found here. [ [link removed] ]
