FL-27 Newsletter Vol. 118, Issue #31 Dear Friends/Amigos, Today, we remember those who lost their lives on September 11th in New York, Washington, D.C., and Pennsylvania. America responded with moral clarity and unity against the evil forces that sought to frighten us. Today, 22 years later, America will continue to remain strong and to never forget. This week, Congress is back and session and ready to roll for a productive legislative session! Let me know what's on your mind for the upcoming week on the 'Contact' page of my website! On the District side of things, my office is still accepting nominations for military academies and for the 2024 Congressional App Challenge! Read more information on how to inquire and apply below! It is an honor to serve you in Congress, and please continue to call my office or visit my website to share your thoughts with me. As always, I invite you to connect with me on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, to get the latest from Washington and from across our district. Sincerely/Atentamente, María Elvira Salazar U.S. Representative (FL-27) THE CRUCIAL COMMUNISM TEACHING ACT WILL PROTECT AMERICA'S FUTURE GENERATIONS! Last week, I re-introduced the Crucial Communism Teaching Act in the House of Representatives. Similar to the legislation I introduced two years ago, my bill would guarantee that schools around America will have the resources to educate students on the dangers and horrors of communist tyranny. Did you know that 1 in 3 members of Gen Z and 1 in 5 Millennials have a favorable view of communism? This is a failure of the education system, particularly when so many Americans, including those who live in Florida's 27th District, experienced firsthand what it means to lose your freedom to communism.
