#LowcountryFirst Pass In Review | September 8, 2023 Lowcountry Meetings Hello and Happy Friday! This was our last week of our Fall District Work period. After long stretches of spring session, it was so nice to spend an extended amount of time in the Lowcountry. We got the opportunity to tour facilities, take meetings, and host events for our Lowcountry residents. Wednesday we met with the NY Life local office and got a company briefing. NY Life is the longest running financial services company in South Carolina and has 80 employees with most living in SC-01! Thursday we spoke to the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club. It was great to talk about the importance of supporting local small businesses and philanthropy in the Lowcountry. Today we toured the Trident Tech Adult High School. The importance of ensuring everyone can receive an education regardless of their age or situation cannot be overstated and we’re grateful for all the work Trident Tech does. Next week, we’ll head back to Washington to try to fund the government. For years, out of control spending by both sides of the aisle has held back the American economy. You will see us use this spending battle as a time to push both sides to reexamine their spending priorities and end with a more fiscally responsible budget. Tomorrow, the South Carolina Congressional Delegation will be holding a Service Academy Day at the USS Yorktown from 11:00am to 1:30pm. This is a great chance to meet with representatives from all 5 military service academies and learn about the process for receiving a nomination for interested students. RSVP Here.
