Yesterday kicked off Ken Paxton’s impeachment trial in the Texas state Senate, and the man on trial could barely be bothered to show up.
The Republican AG who’s under felony indictment and on trial for bribery, misconduct, obstruction of justice, and more, showed up to plead not guilty, and then promptly left.
If Ken can’t take his own impeachment trial seriously, he certainly can’t be trusted to take the attorney general’s office seriously, either. It’s time he’s removed from office.
But we know some of Paxton’s dark money allies are already pouring in millions of dollars to keep him in office. We must keep preparing for the possibility that Ken stays in office, and that we’ll have to defeat him at the ballot box. With enough organizing and strategic investments, it’ll be possible, but we’ll need your help.
