The bottles vs cans debate will continue between beer drinkers, but Anchor Brewing has announced that they will begin to produce their beer in a can. Anchor Steam has been in bottles since its launch in 1896 and they credit the switch to making it easier to enjoy their brew at parks, beaches and hiking trails where glass is prohibited. Don't worry, they will still have glass bottle options available.

In the 1970s, architect and designer Michael Reynolds took his recycling skills to newfound heights. Using empty beer and soda cans as the base material, Reynolds built an entire house. He then expanded this experiment and built homes in the New Mexico desert. Today, there are homes available to rent that were inspired by Renolds' designs and use recycled bottles and cans in their structure.
Beer and mushrooms are turning out to be a dynamic duo for mushroom growers in Brussels. They are cooperating with Belgian breweries to grow shiitake, maitake and nameko mushrooms in used beer grains.
