I’m incredibly proud to say that we reached our goal — and even more importantly, we set a new monthly record for the number of individual contributions to my campaign! This work is being funded not by a few individuals, but by thousands of grassroots supporters from every corner of the Commonwealth.

The truth is, August is always a difficult time to raise money — in the dog days of summer, the last thing anyone wants to do is pay attention to next year’s elections. And just as we expected, it was a tight finish in the final hours of the month. The fact that we reached this goal is a major testament to this team’s dedication to keeping Virginia blue.

But cutting it close in August means that we have to be really clear-eyed about what’s at stake if we don’t get ahead in September. I’ve said this before, but it’s important enough to repeat: National Republicans have their sights set on Virginia.

The GOP is counting on flipping seats like mine in battleground states like Virginia to enact their far-right agenda — banning abortion nationwide, limiting voting rights, and ripping away health care from millions.

Over the next month, my team is going to be digging deep and pushing harder than ever, because at the end of September, we’ll face our biggest test yet — the third quarter FEC filing deadline.

If you were unable to donate before our August deadline, I hope you’ll consider chipping in today as we kick off September to help make up some ground.

Considering all the money the national GOP is ready to pour into Virginia — not to mention the millions Glenn Youngkin is raising right here at home — we’re going to need everyone to pitch in.

More than anything else though, I hope you’ll keep reading these emails and staying engaged with my campaign and our efforts to keep Virginia blue because I can’t do any of this work without you by my side.
