The Vote

Less than a week out from Super Tuesday, and only one campaign seems to be feeling good.

This might be our last week with a full Democratic primary field, and the candidates aren't holding anything back. But the winner of last night's Democratic primary debate seems to be (again) President Trump!

No one emerged from the event a clear winner, and Twitter's official government & politics account reported that the President was the most-tweeted-about politician during the event.

His campaign staff must be pleased, making them likely the only happy presidential campaign staff in America right now.

As you head into Wednesday, here's the news you'll want to know!

When you're too far left for even the audience of your own primary debate...

"A South Carolina crowd booed socialist Bernie Sanders during a CBS News debate on Tuesday night after he again defended his remarks praising the murderous communist regime in Cuba." [Read the full story from The Daily Wire.]

In the face of continued criticism for his embrace of Fidel Castro -- including from the Democratic National Committee -- Bernie Sanders has decided to ... double down.

And even the debate audience in South Carolina last night wasn't having it, as the video (link above!) shows. That's the American spirit on display: we don't admire dictators, like the late Castro.

Most of the attacks on Sanders last night focused on his electability. An embrace of the authoritarian Castro regime in Cuba will do Sanders no favors on that front, especially in the all-important state of Florida, home to many Cuban-Americans.

President Trump "flipped" the infamously left 9th Circuit ... and now it ruled his administration's pro-life policy is constitutional.

"The rules, which advance President Donald Trump’s promise to stop funding businesses that perform abortions, require that organizations that perform abortions and make abortion referrals will have to do so in separate buildings from those that receive Title X federal funds." [Read the full story from The Daily Signal.]

You may not see it in the headlines, but you'll certainly notice its effects.

On Monday, you learned how the Trump Administration has "flipped" the famously left-leaning 9th Circuit as President Trump has appointed a large number of federal judges in his term.

Now that same circuit court has handed down a ruling that's key to one of the Trump Administration's policies: keeping federal money (technically, Title X funds) from going to providers who promote or perform abortions.

Planned Parenthood dropped out of the Title X program rather than comply last year; it lost access to approximately $60 million in taxpayer funds.

The stories keep coming from Trump rallies ... and they're all good!

"At the Trump rally, I was surrounded by people who fix cars, weld, lay brick, and build homes, roads, sewers, and bridges. There were plenty of farmers. I have never felt so welcomed. Not one of them needed to know what I do for a living or how many years of college I’ve completed. All that mattered was that we were all there to make a statement about the values we believe are worth defending." [Read the full story from The Federalist.]

You can't help but click on a first-person story about a Trump rally ... because they're feel-good stories about Americans coming together to celebrate our country and our shared values.

Do yourself a favor and read through this engaging story (linked above!) of President Trump's rally in Colorado. You'll be glad you did.

We don't remember this SCOTUS concern when they ruled in favor of Obamacare "for" the Obama Administration.

"Sotomayor accused the Supreme Court’s conservative majority of 'putting a thumb on the scale in favor of the party that won' following a 5-4 ruling which allowed the Trump administration to implement its 'public charge' rule, which limits access to legal status for immigrants who are expected to rely on public benefits." [Read the full story from the National Review.]

The Supreme Court ruled 5-4 in favor of a Trump Administration policy on immigration. But Justice Sotomayor -- an Obama Administration appointee -- used her dissent for sharp criticism of the Court's now-majority of conservative justices.

By design, the Supreme Court is separate from and, ideally, above partisan squabbling. That's one reason the story has made headlines.

The other is due to President Trump rebuking the criticism, which he called "totally inappropriate." Somehow stories like this just don't happen when the Supreme Court affirms liberal policies or positions.

What you likely won't see in the media: the success of President Trump's trip to India.

"Trump declared alongside Modi on Tuesday that the U.S.-India partnership is “now truly stronger than ever before” even amid a standoff on trade between the two sides." [Read the full story from The Hill.]

President Trump wrapped up his successful trip to India yesterday. On Monday, you read about the major kick-off event to his trip, as more than 100,000 people gathered at a "Namaste Trump" event with the President and Indian Prime Minister Modi.

Although the U.S. did not secure the trade deal they were hoping for (talks are still ongoing), President Trump did announce a $3-billion defense deal.
