Dear friend,

Before you log off for the long weekend, I wanted to share a bit about what Labor Day means to me — and why we need to continue fighting to expand union protections here in Pennsylvania.

From first responders braving the wildfire and its aftermath in Maui, to nurses fighting at the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic, to working parents juggling jobs and child care, to construction workers like my dad, who put in 40 years with Operating Engineers Local 542, every single worker deserves our applause — and our relentless advocacy.

STAND WITH WORKERS THIS LABOR DAY » [link removed]

I have my own union story: In 2012, I was illegally fired from a job I loved when my co-workers and I attempted to form a union. We were asking for fair wages and to be treated with respect. It seemed like a simple request, but the response was quick and brutal.

Clearly, people power is a force to be reckoned with.

Now, I’m asking you to stand with me. I want to continue my work in the State Senate, fighting for working families and the right to organize, but it will take every single one of us to continue delivering for our workers. If you’re able, consider a small contribution in honor of the labor movement today:
