This week, my office announced that we have secured $25 million in federal funding to deploy broadband and expand access to high-speed internet in Southwest Virginia -- part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law that President Biden signed in 2021.
I fought tirelessly for this funding because high-quality internet is crucial for Virginians -- especially those in rural communities -- to reach services like health care, work, and educational opportunities.
Every Virginian, no matter where they live, deserves access to affordable, reliable internet access.
Although this is a major victory for the region and our Commonwealth in general, we still have a long way to go. That’s why I fought so hard to pass the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and it’s why I’ll continue to fight to secure new investments in broadband infrastructure as long as I have the honor of serving as your Senator.
