Here’s why this moment in the race is so important:

The GOP is gearing up to funnel big money into this race in hopes of unseating Eric. Kevin McCarthy’s super PAC just announced a plan called the “Blue States Project” targeting swing districts in typically blue states like Illinois.

They plan to spend $100 million on the effort, some of which is sure to go into attack ads against Eric.

On top of outside money from the far-right, we’ve also learned that our opponent is self-funding his own campaign. That means he won’t be relying on grassroots support for resources – unlike us.

We count on grassroots contributions because we believe our campaign should be powered by the people Eric serves. But as August nears its end, we’re unfortunately falling behind on our fundraising goal.
