Folks, when I was appointed Lt. Gov. last year, I was thrilled to see my friend, Democrat Pat Ryan, win the special election to take over my seat. Today is exactly one year since his victory.

But that was a hard-fought victory. Pat stood up to extremist politicians and won. His win was a win for reproductive rights, working families, and democracy.

Now, we need to ensure Pat wins again. Republican groups are breaking fundraising records this year. They’re pledging to spend millions of dollars to flip toss-up seats, just like this one.

But I know our strong Democrat community can fight back and pull off another win for Pat.
