Message from Rep. Tracey Mann. Having Trouble Viewing? Click Here. Fellow Kansan, Thank you for subscribing to my newsletter! I’m excited to update you on my work in Washington, D.C. and the First District of Kansas. It is an honor to represent Kansans in the Big First District in the 118th Congress. I do not serve in Congress to be a caretaker in the slow demise of America – I serve to fight and work to make it stronger, and I believe our brightest days are yet to come. Yours in service,   Mann.House.Gov   In the District Biden Administration Fails to Process Passports In the last four months, President Biden’s U.S. State Department has increased the estimated passport processing time from 6-8 weeks to 10-13 weeks. This is unacceptable. While President Biden is continually finding new ways to waste taxpayer dollars, the federal government is failing to accomplish basic tasks in an efficient way. American taxpayers deserve better. I’ve been working hard to help Kansans in the Big First expedite passport applications, but the Biden Administration is causing unnecessary problems for people. If your travel dates are closer than 12 weeks away, or if you have been unsuccessful in getting information regarding your application, please call my Dodge City office at (620) 682-7340, or my Manhattan office at (785) 370-7277. My staff and I are ready to assist you. Click here for more information and to contact my office. Hutchinson Monarchs Win First National Title Congratulations to the Hutchinson Monarchs, who made history last Saturday night when they defeated the Santa Barbara Foresters to win the National Baseball Congress World Series Championship! This is the first NBCWS championship in the team’s history. Go Monarchs!   In the Office Creating an Economy That's Strong We need to create an economy that’s strong. Because of Washington’s spending addiction, America is $32 trillion in debt, and we are all footing the bill. On top of wasteful government spending, the Biden Administration canceled the Keystone XL Pipeline and pushed "Green New Deal" regulations that are burdening small businesses and American energy producers. Meanwhile, President Biden is attempting to do away with stepped-up basis and impose a new Farm Killer capital gains tax on American agricultural producers. Here’s the commonsense solution: when you stop the wasteful spending, you don’t have to tax people to death. I am committed to passing legislation that supports American agriculture and small business while protecting American taxpayers from funding the Biden Administration's wish list. Drug mules smuggle fentanyl into our country every day, and now Kansans are dying from overdoses in record numbers. The rest of the Kansas delegation and I are raising awareness about this crisis. Just two milligrams of fentanyl (which can fit on the tip of a pencil), is a lethal dose. American children are getting their hands on fentanyl that drug cartels have pressed into fake pills made to look like candy, Xanax, Adderall, and other pharmaceuticals. We need to equip parents and schools with resources to stop fentanyl from falling into the hands of young people. Most of all, we need to secure our southern border and cut the drug off at its source, which will protect the lives of Kansans and all Americans.
