Campaign Money Soars in Battle to Control VA Legislature
Friends,
As we head into the fall, the eyes of the nation are turning to our Commonwealth, where control of the VA Senate and House of Delegates are up for grabs.
Unsurprisingly, huge sums of money are pouring into our legislative election campaigns to fuel a battle for control of the General Assembly.
And here’s the bad news: Recently-released campaign finance data shows that Democrats have less cash in the bank in key VA House of Delegates contests.
And worse yet, Gov. Glenn Youngkin’s PAC reported raising nearly $6 million in the second quarter of 2023 -- a record amount for a VA governor at this point in the term of office.
The bottom line is this: Democrats are falling behind. And we need to have their backs.

I can’t overstate the importance of this November’s legislative elections. If Republicans prevail, they’ll restrict reproductive freedom, attack voting rights, make it easier for criminals to obtain deadly weapons, and gut protections for Virginians living with pre-existing medical conditions.
