*Boil water advisory lifted for most of Medical Lake and Strathview*

"A portion of Medical Lake affected by wildfire still under restrictions"

*OLYMPIA* ? The City of Medical Lake is lifting its advisory to boil all water used for drinking, with the exception of residents of the area that was directly affected by the Gray Fire.

The advisory was issued Friday evening out of concerns that fire-related high water use would cause the system to lose water pressure. Potable water lines that are not pressurized can introduce harmful bacteria into a water system. Fortunately, operators were able to maintain proper water pressure through the night.

A part of the water system that was directly impacted by the fire is still covered by the boil water advisory. *For residents in that area (described below_)_: *DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST**.?Bring all water to a rolling boil for one minute, and let it cool before using. Boiled tap water or purchased bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice. Boiling kills bacteria and other organisms in the water. The advisory remains in effect for this portion of the Medical Lake are until further notice.

*?*_The area that remains under a boil water advisory_ (see map below) includes:

* Hallett Street south of the elementary school including Jim Darby Drive
* Stanley Street (south of Campell)
* Evergreen Drive
* Legg Street (south of Campbell)
* Stanley Drive
* Lake Shore Drive
* Stanley Court
* Grant (between Evergreen Drive and Stanley Drive)
* Pine View Drive
* Silver Lake Avenue
