Dear  john,

I hope that you and your family are well. Congress is still in the August recess period, and families across the state are preparing for kids to go back to school at the end of the month. While Congress isn’t currently meeting in Washington, my D.C. and district offices are always available assist with constituent services, tours of the U.S. Capitol, and more.

Recess Roundup

In the fight to protect free speech, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals heard oral arguments last week in the pivotal Missouri v. Biden case, which may head to the Supreme Court next. The evidence is crystal clear – the Biden administration engaged in blatant censorship, utilizing private companies to do its bidding and trample on the First Amendment. I’ll continue to follow this important case closely and believe our foundational right to free speech will triumph in this fight.

My recently introduced Censorship Accountability Act will deter these censorship laundering schemes from happening in the first place by ensuring Americans can hold government censors accountable in a court of law. It’s critical that this bill become law, and doing so will be a top priority of mine for the rest of this Congress.

The Biden DOJ has also shown that it will seek nothing less than the complete destruction of the First Amendment in order to retrain power by going after former President Donald Trump. I spoke about the latest developments in that case with Charles Payne on Fox News earlier this week –

Also, be sure to tune in to Newsmax tonight at 7:30 – my friend Rep. Matt Gaetz will be hosting the 7:00 hour, and I’ll be joining him to discuss the latest on the weaponized DOJ and what we’ll be doing about it in Congress.
