Attorney General Rob Bonta

Gun violence is America’s disease, and it’s infecting our communities and traumatizing our families. Protecting public safety and preventing further devastation from these tragedies is my top priority both as California’s Chief Law Enforcement Officer and a concerned father.

That’s why I’m proud to announce that this week, California’s Department of Justice released our first-ever Office of Gun Violence Prevention Data Report.

This report sheds a light on the facts, figures, and impacts of gun violence on our communities in California and across the nation. If we’re going to stop the gun violence epidemic, we have to carefully study the data and let it guide our strategy to find solutions.

But there are bad actors out there who want to put a halt to our research: a recent Los Angeles Times article revealed that the GOP and NRA are actively trying to stop gun violence research, and California is their top target.

That’s right: our country is facing more mass shootings and gun violence than ever before, and the gun lobby and its allies want us to stick our heads in the sand and just pretend it isn’t happening.

Why? Because they know the data shows our gun violence prevention laws are working.

As your Attorney General, I am doing absolutely everything in my power to research and solve this deadly problem and save lives. Will you stand with me and fuel my fight to end gun violence by making a donation of $10 or more to our campaign today?

Gun violence is a public health crisis, and I won’t let anyone stop our state’s groundbreaking work to research and solve it.

In solidarity,
