We're excited to announce that we'll be joined by singer-songwriter Martha Bassett at Lead with Lillian on Sunday, September 24 at 3pm at the Durham Arts Council. We hope you'll join us for our empowering annual event!

Martha is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist living and working in the Piedmont region of NC. She hosts The Martha Bassett Show, a monthly musical variety show at the Reeves Theater in Elkin which features national, regional, and local musicians. Her programming is heavy on female artists and she is a proud supporter of Lillian's List's work. She has made 11 records, the last 2 with her current 6-piece band, and toured nationally and regionally. You can learn more and check out her music here!

Also at the event, we'll award the Jan Allen Courage Award to an amazing woman legislator who has been fighting for us in the NC House or Senate. Stay tuned--we'll be announcing the recipient next week!

Plus, we'll hear from Jenn Mahan from the Center for Reproductive Rights about how NC is a pivotal state for abortion access nationwide. Jenn is a State Legislative Fellow on the Center's US State Policy and Advocacy team, tracking and analyzing abortion-related legislation in all 50 states and DC.
