The New Pennsylvania Project, in partnership with The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, as well as POWER Interfaith, will be hosting a community conversation on the current state of our federal judiciary on Wednesday, August 23rd from 6:00PM-8:00PM in Philadelphia.
The decisions that federal judges make — in Pennsylvania and across the nation — shape our democracy and determine whether our civil and human rights are protected. Our panel of experts will discuss the critical issues related to our third branch of government.
Topics will include the basics of the federal courts, the historic number of highly qualified, diverse, and fair-minded judges recently confirmed by our senators, the remaining judicial vacancies in Pennsylvania and on the Third Circuit, and the need for a Supreme Court Code of Conduct.
