This event is a celebration of the business community, and helps our Chamber continue our mission of strengthening businesses and the economic environment for those who work, live, and do business in Arlington. Members of the committee will be tasked with soliciting silent auction items, securing sponsorships, selling raffle rickets and helping with the special touches for the 100th anniversary, to help make our largest event of the year a success. This is an excellent way to connect with fellow members, show your support for the Chamber, and leave your footprint on Arlington’s Best Night Out. Our first Gala Committee meeting is Tuesday, August 29 at 4:00 p.m. at the Chamber office. To RSVP for the meeting, or to indicate your interest even if you’re unable to attend this meeting, please contact Malena Malone Blevins, Events Director, at [email protected] or (703) 525-2400 ext. 204.   Small Business Roundtable: Lending Prep 101 Wednesday, August 30 | 12:00 p.m.- 1:00 p.m. | Virtual The Chamber's free monthly Small Business Roundtable is an important educational and networking opportunity for small businesses. This program is part of an ongoing partnership between AED BizLaunch and BluDot that encourages shoppers to earn cash-back rewards while spending at local small businesses. Arlington is the first community on the East Coast to participate in the program. Consumers can enroll in the program by downloading the Open Rewards app to their smartphone and add payment cards to their accounts or upload receipts from small business merchants. There is no cost for businesses or consumers to participate in Open Rewards, and Arlington local businesses in the personal service, restaurant and retail sectors are automatically enrolled. Each transaction earns 5% in rewards, which then can be used to support more small businesses.   FOR BUSINESSES FOR CUSTOMERS   Metro Wants Your Input On Future of Blue, Orange, and Silver Lines Metro is now seeking public input on six proposed alternatives to address capacity, reliability, and customer needs on the Blue, Orange, and Silver lines. These alternatives are long-term investments in Metro, and designed to plan ahead for the Metro corridors in the decades to come. Possible alternatives include Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lines, a Silver Line Express, a second Rosslyn station and tunnel, direct connections from Virginia to Union Station, and Metro service to National Harbor. Metro is hosting hybrid meetings for the public to learn more, with the next online meeting scheduled for Saturday, August 26. Register here. The public can provide feedback through the online survey here. The comment period ends September 30. Learn More   Annual Corporate Sponsors   Having trouble viewing this email?
